About the Campaign
Welcome to Lighthouse, an exciting building campaign chapter in the history of Shepherd’s House Bible Church. As we set sail on this transformative journey, our mission is clear:
Establishing a Sanctuary for Truth and Community.
With a vision that transcends our current confines, SHBC is actively seeking a long-term church facility capable of meeting our current needs and allowing for future growth across two services. Over the course of this 3-year campaign, our aim is to raise $10,000,000 towards building or renovating a long-term church facility in the city of Chandler.
Why Now?
We believe it’s time for a campaign so that we…
-
As the Word is taught, more people come, and more people are saved. We desire a facility that can allow for people to continue to worship and grow in the grace and mercy of Christ for years to come.
-
However the Lord would use the collective gifts of Shepherd’s House, a church home will allow for mid-week classes and AWANA, expand EQUIP ministry, conferences, seminary training, improved kid’s classrooms, and much more.
-
A new and dedicated facility allows for stability, the creation of a conducive worship environment with modern amenities, comfortable seating, and adaptable spaces, enhancing the overall corporate worship each Sunday.
-
A church building becomes a focal point for community engagement, offering space for meetings, events, and outreach-based activities so that we can foster relationships with our neighbors and point them to Christ.
-
While requiring an initial investment, a building campaign can lead to long-term financial sustainability. A larger facility allows for increased membership, provides more resources for ministry, and stabilizes long-term church financial health.

FAQ’s
How will financing be arranged?
If financing is required, we plan to stay within the acceptable limits on loan criteria such as debt-to-income, expense coverage, and loan to value ratios.
Will this impact our ability to support church planting?
No, we intend to increase our focus and attention on church planting and missions programs over the next several years.
Is it appropriate to seek donations from friends and family outside our church?
Yes, sharing the vision of the campaign with friends and family outside the church community is encouraged if they are willing to support.
Where will building funds be held for the next 3 years?
Funds will be held in designated CD’s and MMA’s to ensure prudent management and growth over the duration of the campaign.
Why aim for $10M when a retrofit costs $15M?
We don’t know what the Lord might make available to us in this campaign. $10M ensures we are ready and able to move on any number of opportunities.
Should I redirect my general giving to the building campaign?
While both are important, consider giving above and beyond your regular giving to support the building campaign if you’re able to do so.
Can I donate stocks or other assets?
Yes, gifts of stocks and other assets may be accepted. To give a gift of stock please contact bskinner@shepherdsaz.org for more details.
Will the campaign strain our operating budget?
Apart from a significant portion of people transfering their giving from general to building, the campaign should not strain our operating budget.
What are the timelines for moving into a new building?
Industry experts expect that the retrofit/building process will take two to three years once funding is in place.
Will funds designated for building be used elsewhere?
Donations designated for the building fund will be used solely for the intended purpose of the campaign.
